As you do the practice, you may become physically strengthened and your back more supple and flexible. The flexibility that you develop in the practice of Heaven Nature Heart Mantra does not come from pushing the body's limits, but rather from letting go, from allowing the qi to take over from the will.

Through the practice, as the qi flows through the body, it gradually opens the heart of of the practitioner. In so doing, it releases the suppleness and compassion of the original heart. The grace that is developed in the practice is simply a reflection of the true nature of the human heart -- full of compassion and full of grace.

Physically, this practice not only purifies the meridians and strengthens the spine, but also helps in developing healthier muscles. It is during relaxation in the movement -- not exertion -- that the muscles become stronger.

Become friends with your body. Learn to love your body more. Enjoy the practice and see your body as your boat on your journey to love.

Excerpt from the first movement, Boat Rowing in the Stream of Air:

Life originates from nature. It should be as if you were born and never suffered any pain nor ever had any worry. You are innocent and carefree as a newborn child.

Life was given to humanity to enjoy. In returning to simplicity and in becoming child-like, one can find one’s true nature; one can enjoy life under any circumstance.

There are seeds of joy planted everywhere in the world. Lightness of heart is the essence to finding this blessed joy in one’s life.

This movement connects Heaven and Earth and the Universe.

It draws the qi of the Universe into your body through the five energy gateways — the soles of the feet, the center of the palms of the hands, and the crown of the head — to the dantian (the storehouse of energy below the navel.).
